Where Chandra Whispers Light

Nilavu (நிலவு) is a sculptural lighting studio based in Prince Rupert, BC, Canada. We create resin-printed figure lamps, wall lamps, and handcrafted illuminated dioramas — each made to order, hand-painted, and wired by hand.

The name Nilavu means moonlight in Tamil. Every piece carries its own light — a character given form, a myth made tangible.

The Process

Each sculpture is modelled in ZBrush and Maya, printed on an Anycubic Photon M7 Max resin printer, then cured, sanded, painted, and wired. Every lamp includes a 2700K dimmable LED (4W) on a 1.8m braided cord with a Type B (Canada) or Type D (India) plug. Weight ranges from 420g to 1.4kg depending on the piece.

After printing, each lamp goes through a 24-hour burn test before it ships.

Care

Dust with a dry cloth. Keep out of direct sunlight — UV yellows the resin over time.
